Marshalling
Without Marshals we would be unable to run any motorsport events. The people that turn up to marshal in all weathers are central to the success of any event we run. Marshals, range from competitors who wish to put something back into the sport, to those that just enjoy motorsport but do not wish for whatever reason, to take part as competitors. It is also a very good way of becoming involved with the minimum of outlay. The cost is usually just that of getting to and from an event, but even this can be minimised by travelling with other people. If you want to go on to become a competitor, marshalling will give you a good understanding of how events are run, and how important marshals are to the running of events. This is why we as a club insist that our drivers marshal on at least one event a year, for their points to be counted towards any of our Club Championships.
We have a dedicated hardcore of marshals who are always pleased to welcome newcomers, be they experienced or inexperienced. If you are only interested in one type of event, then we will be pleased to see you at the events of your chosen discipline. No experience is necessary, as there will always be experienced marshals on hand to advise and guide newcomers. It is a great way to make a start in motorsport and meet up with likeminded people.
For those that wish to take marshalling more seriously there are training days and courses that will allow them to acquire the skills that are required for disciplines such as stage rallying and circuit racing, where a higher level of knowledge and training is an advantage.
